Special Trip is a program for adventurers to travel the world, while working remotely.
What's Included
Accommodations for the Year
For every stop along the way, we will take care of providing you with clean and safe housing, at an apartment or hotel. You will always have your own private room to enjoy.
We also make an effort to select housing locations that are culturally relevant, so you can get a real taste of the local life.
Travel Between Destinations
All travel between destinations is included in the program. Whether the travel is by airplane, train, or bus, it's all covered.
The logistics will be communicated to you beforehand, so there won't be any surprises. You just need to kick-back, relax, and enjoy the sights and sounds.
Shared Workspace
To give you the option to separate your work, from your adventure life, we provide you with 24/7 access to coveniently located shared workspaces.
These workspaces provide opportunities to connect and collaborate with the local talent, and fellow adventurers. It's very possible for new business ventures to form, as a result of the connections you solidify through these communities.
Activities and Community Events
Sometimes it can get overwhelming trying to figure out what to do on your own. Not to worry. We plan multiple weekly events at each destination. Get to know your fellow adventurers, and soak in the the local cultures, cuisines and experiences.
Examples: Weekend excursions, happy hours, language courses, sports games, dinners, community service, etc.
Ground Support
The Special Trip team will be available to provide you with support, every step of the way. If you have any questions, issues, or concerns, a Special Trip team member will be at your disposal 24/7.
Whether you want advice for a weekend getaway, need a local SIM card, or need to find a doctor, we'll be there to help address your needs.
Special Trip is not an employer that provides work. All participants are expected to have a remote job lined up in time for the program start, and for the entirety of the trip. However, it is not required for you to have a remote job in order to apply. For the selected participants, guidance and resources will be provided to help get your employer on board with you working remotely. We will assist you in exploring creative ways to transition you into a remote position.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to participate for the whole year?
Yes, we are looking for participants that are excited about the opportunity to travel and work for the full year!
Are there breaks in the program to go on vacations or visit family?
Although the program will continue without breaks, you are free to come and go as you please. You can rejoin the group wherever they are at the time.
I'm not from the United States. Can I apply?
Absolutely! Special Trip aims to include a diverse set of participants in each group.
Is there an age requirement?
Yes, in order to participate in this program, you must be at least 21 years old.
Do I have to speak English?
You do not need to be fluent in English in order to join the program. However, English will be the primary language used, so you must have basic English conversational skills, in order to interact with your fellow adventurers.
Can I bring pets or children?
Special Trip is not able to accommodate pets or children at this time.
What is involved in the application process?
There are three rounds to the application process.
- Submit your initial application here.
- If you pass the intial screen, you will be sent a second set of questions to provide us with more personal and professional information about yourself.
- The final screen involves a 20-30 minute video Skype/GChat interview, with a Special Trip team member.
